We rent out exclusively Altrex mobile scaffolds from the RS Tower 5 series (RS51 narrow and RS52 wide), the Altrex Mi Tower (1-person scaffold) and the Altrex RS44 (room scaffold for indoor work). This is our specialism and we deliberately do not rent out any other equipment.

Steigertaxi rents out Altrex mobile scaffold towers, room scaffolds and single person towers, and is part of RENTXL. You book online at a fixed price including VAT, pick your own delivery and collection dates and assemble the tower yourself. Below you will find what we do and deliberately do not do, which equipment we carry and how renting works in practice.
What we do and deliberately skip
Steigertaxi is a rental company and nothing more than that. We rent out Altrex mobile scaffold towers, room scaffolds and single person towers, with fixed prices including VAT that you see before you book. Delivery and collection cover the whole of the Netherlands at a fixed rate per province. Steigertaxi is part of RENTXL, which means renting, delivery and collection follow one fixed routine rather than being arranged from scratch for every job.
What we leave out matters just as much. We do not assemble the tower and we never deliver it ready to use. You receive a complete, counted set of parts and put it together yourself using the manual and the video. Fixed facade scaffolding and structures that are anchored to a building are not part of the range. What you rent here is a mobile tower that you build, move and take down again yourself.
Our equipment and why these models
All equipment is made by Altrex and meets EN 1004 in load class 3, which works out at 200 kg per square metre of platform. The RS51 is 75 cm wide, so it fits through gates, side passages and narrow gaps along a facade. The RS52 is 135 cm wide and gives you working room on the platform for tools, materials or a second person. Both have a platform length of 245 cm and are available in working heights from 4.2 to 14.2 metres.
For indoor work there is the RS44 room scaffold. It passes through an internal doorway from roughly 70 cm wide, so you can roll it from room to room without stripping it down completely. If you work alone, the MiTower is the obvious choice: a single person tower up to 6 metres working height. There are no other models, and that is deliberate. A narrow tower, a wide tower, a room scaffold and a one person tower cover the large majority of work on a house or facade.
From booking to collection, step by step
You book online and choose both the delivery date and the collection date yourself. Order before 15:00 on a working day and the tower is with you the next working day. The price for delivery and collection together is fixed per province and includes VAT, so you know where you stand in advance. We do not deliver to the Wadden Islands or to addresses outside the Netherlands. If you would rather drive yourself, free collection in person is possible in Amsterdam by appointment.
The tower arrives as a complete, counted set of parts. You assemble it with the manual and the video at hand, finish your job and take the set down again before the collection date you picked yourself. One clear rule governs the rental period: you pay the full rate for the first twenty four hours, and every day after that carries a 95% discount. Once the set is back, your deposit is returned within 1 working day.
Who these towers are meant for
A large share of our customers are private households: painting a facade, clearing a gutter, touching up a dormer or reaching a stairwell and a high ceiling indoors. Self employed tradespeople rent regularly too, such as painters, plasterers, fitters and glaziers who need a tower for one job and have nowhere to store one. For them the choice between 75 and 135 cm wide matters most, because it decides whether you can pass along the house and how much you can carry up.
Contractors use rental to fill gaps, when their own equipment is on another site or when a job needs a height they do not own. For a homeowners association it helps that you set the delivery and collection dates yourself and that the price per province is fixed, for instance during maintenance on a shared facade or a communal stairwell. One condition applies to everyone alike: nobody comes to build it, so plan assembly time into your schedule.

Can I visit you to look at a tower?
You can, by appointment. The address is Zeeburgerpad 89, 1019 AD Amsterdam. Because equipment goes in and out all day we do not run a walk in counter, so your visit is scheduled in advance. At that same address you can also collect a tower yourself free of charge, again by appointment, which saves you the delivery cost if you can drive.
Do you assemble the scaffold for me?
No. Steigertaxi does not assemble towers and never delivers one ready built. You receive a complete, counted set of parts and put it together yourself using the manual and the video supplied with it. Taking it down is your job too, before the collection date you chose when booking. Allow for that time when you plan the work.
How do I get a quote for something outside the range?
The fixed prices for the mobile towers, the room scaffold and the single person tower are all shown online, including VAT. If your question does not fit that, for example because of an unusual rental period or a difficult situation on site, put it to us through the contact details on the site. State the working height you need, the location and the dates.
Do you deliver outside the Netherlands?
No. We deliver and collect within the Netherlands only, at a fixed price per province including VAT. Addresses abroad fall outside that, and we do not drive to the Wadden Islands either. If you are based in one of those places, collecting in person by appointment in Amsterdam remains an option, with transport there and back arranged by you.
What happens if something breaks or goes missing?
Tell us as soon as you notice, rather than waiting for the collection day. The tower leaves as a counted set and is taken back the same way, so missing or damaged parts are noticed. As long as the set comes back complete and undamaged, your deposit is transferred back within 1 working day of the return.
